Karen Doran (KD) began her career in entertainment publishing during the 1980's in New York. Working for the largest US reference book publisher specializing in a range of publications from Who's Who in Music and Film to publishing the notorious Variety Magazine. Relocating to Los Angeles in 1994, KD was employed by the Promotion department of Island Records whose artists included Tricky, Melissa Etheridge, Jim Carroll and Marianne Faithfull, amongst others.

In 1996 KD was contracted into the world of Hollywood working for an established publicist in Beverly Hills on films in production with Liam Neeson, Harvey Keitel, Brendan Fraser and Bill Paxton. Opportunity to merge her work experience in publicity and music lent itself in 1997 and KD began working with The House of Blues and Dan Aykroyd on various films, music events and the launching of The House of Blues Record Company.

In 1999 KD became co-founder of Evolution which specializes in Radio Promotion, Tour Promotion, Online Marketing, Direct Consumer Marketing, Web Design and Hosting and Consulting in all areas of the music business.

In July 2005, Karen co-founded Online Radio Promotion, a new division of Evolution Promotion. The company is partnered with RadioWave Monitor to distribute, promote and track music to licensed online radio stations in all formats.
